A kitchen worth showing up to.
ProKitchen began in 2024 in a Brooklyn walk-up. We're cooks, designers, and people who'd rather buy a thing once than buy it three times. We were tired of watching $50 nonstick pans warp by month four. Tired of stand mixers with motors that gave up the first time we made bread dough. Tired of being sold the idea of quality.
So we started keeping a spreadsheet. The pans that survived years of restaurant kitchens. The espresso machines that pulled identical shots after a decade. The knives our chef friends actually used at home, not the ones they were paid to endorse. The list got long. We made it a store.
What we look for
We say no to nine out of every ten products we test. The shortlist has to clear three bars:
- Built for decades. If a manufacturer won't stand behind the product for at least five years, we don't carry it. Most of what we sell carries a lifetime warranty.
- Maintainable. Parts available. Repairable. Not a sealed box destined for landfill.
- Designed with intention. Beautiful is non-negotiable. So is functional. We don't believe you have to pick.
A note on sustainability
The most sustainable product is the one you don't have to replace. Everything we sell is built to that standard. We offset every shipment, ship in recycled and recyclable packaging, and operate a no-questions-asked repair program for the brands that participate.
